On the morning of October 18, 2018, at the hall of Hanoi College for Electro – Mechanics (HCEM), the signing ceremony of cooperation agreement and establishing ICDL ATC between ICDL Vietnam and HCEM was held.

Attending the signing ceremony, from HCEM’s side, there were Mr. Dong Van Ngoc – Principal of the College, Mr. Luong Van Hieu – Head of Information and Technology Department, Mr. Pham Cuong – Head of Education and Training Department and Ms. Lam Thi Huong – Head of Administration, in parallel with Ms. Dao Mai Anh – Chairman of ICDL Vietnam and Mr. Pham Hoang Cuong – Director of ICDL Vietnam, which represented ICDL Vietnam.

At the ceremony, Mr. Dong Van Ngoc – Principal of HCEM enthusiastically expressed:

“HCEM is one of 45 high quality colleges according to Decision No.76/2007 of Ministry of Education and Training. In the current trend of economic integration with the region and the world, ICT training and standardisation for staffs and students of HCEM in particular and for Vietnam workforce, in general, is necessary. ICDL is a globally recognised digital skills certification that addresses all values and needs our college wants to significantly improve our teaching and learning quality.

HCEM commits to accompany ICDL Vietnam in implementing and standardising digital skills in accordance with ICDL international standards within the college and associated institutions, as well as for other agencies, organisations and individuals who has needs in the society.

After this ceremony, HCEM will plan to deploy ICDL training for nearly 50 faculty members and 1500 students, aiming to standardise digital skills for 100% of students in the future. “

Established in 1972, HCEM has grown from a technical school of workers to a multi-field, multi-level college offering a wide range of high quality programs in order to adapt to Vietnam process of integration into the world economy. HCEM’s aim is to become an ASEAN and later international standardised college in the near future.

Graduates from HCEM work in various areas such as economics, administrations, technology of large enterprises in Vietnam and abroad, and are often highly valued for their expertise and skills. Currently, HCEM annually recruits and trains more than 3,500 students, including nearly 1,200 college level students, 300 intermediate level students, and 2,000 from other levels.

During the signing ceremony, representatives of HCEM and ICDL openly discussed and signed the cooperation agreement to set up an ICDL ATC at HCEM so as to support, share, promote the long-term partnership and raise values of both sides.
